I can see why they demanded a high price now that I've seen the actual packaging, although it's retail price was still too much imo. The inner gatefold is matte with the tracklist in center and die-cut jackets for the records in order to display the art on the picture discs. The outer art on the triple gatefold is textured and almost metallic glossy and both looks and feel incredibly well done. appear in the game Stream Final Fantasy 7 Remake OST, a playlist by Final View.

The packaging on this is something else, though, and some of the nicest I've seen in a while. FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Original Soundtrack Plus. Pressingwise I'd say they're better than the original sets of VII and VIII, but still leave something to be desired unfortunately. Side D in particular was bad and listening to "Flowers Blooming in the Church" with all the crackle was disappointing. I don't have a good wet-cleaning system in place, so I can't see if that would remove some or all of it. I think it might be due to the inner sleeves, which are just clear plastic and not anti-static whatsoever (intended to display the picture discs rather than provide any significant protection). It does, however, have some crackling and a few pops throughout. However, even with the volume turned up I hardly noticed any surface noise.

It sounds good for a picture disc, although it's a bit on the quiet side, so I had to turn up the volume on my system to for it to play around the same volume as most other records. It costs around $100 USD in most places, so $50 USD/ picture disc. Pricing is pretty bad even for Square Enix. Swap them out for any regular anti static sleeves, the matte ones look pretty good with the matte black design anyway.ģ. I get that they wanted to make the art look nice through the case, but this is pretty bad. Seriously, its just some cheap transparent plastic, almost like a film. The inner sleeves provided are EXTREMELY prone to static. As it stands now, taking this out of the outer sleeve is just cumbersome as it falls apart easily.Ģ. That way you can print the label on the side as well, and still have a complete black front art cover. They should have at least made the outer case to have a solid side on the left, so that it has just one opening on the right. Seems like a strange oversight since it is pretty inconvenient to place the obi strip back on and slide it into the resealable outer sleeve. Why? The Obi strip is detachable as usual but then it leaves a gap with no label info, meaning you have to keep the Obi strip on if you want to display it nicely on your shelf. Outer sleeve holding the box has 2 holes on its sides. Packaging wise, it looks lovely BUT i do have several complaints.ġ.

That being said, you will DEFINETLY still notice the noise on quieter tracks, and my copy had a couple of pops (on Side B2- Hurry!) Plus the pricing for this is quite absurd for what you get, but thats Square Enix for you. Published on 5.For a picture disc, this is really impressive sound quality wise.
